AllWood pickups are constructed and wound completely by hand.  Specifically my hand(s).

A video of a start to finish build on one of my noiseless single coils can be found here:  XXXXXX

Some basic information about the pickups that I make:

  • Industry standard dimensions to fit any instrument.
  • Wood bobbins with solid steel cores (no issues with pole spacing).
  • Neodymium magnets.
  • Vacuum potted in Paraffin and Beeswax.
  • 4 conductor leads.
  • Hemp twine wrapping, available in a variety of colors.
  • Plastic free construction.
  • Lifetime warranty.

If you have a special piece of wood you'd like me to make a set of pickups out of, or if you'd like something in specific dimensions, just send me a message and we will work something out.

In my experience, Neodymium or rare earth magnets, have a noticeably stronger output than a pickup using AlNiCo magnets wound to the same impedance. Neo mags also seem to have a fuller sound and come across as less harsh when compared to ceramic or AlNiCo.
